  1. MemWin and KMemWin are tools for displaying free memory in the frontmost
  2. application -- the first shows memory in bytes and the second shows it in
  3. kilobytes (hence the K). In both programs, the window always floats above
  4. all other programs and windows, but can be hidden by typing Cmd-Escape.

  6. They require the Text Services Manager of System 7.1 or later, so
  7. if you dont have System 7.1 you are out of luck. Both are implemented
  8. as System Extensions (actually background only programs), so place
  9. whichever one you like into the Extensions folder.

  11. The software is free for posting, sharing, and putting on CD-ROMS. The
  12. source is available for implementing similar hacks if you are interested.
